Yoga Barn News
When we opened the Yoga Barn, our mission was to create a center in which we could share the joys of yoga with our community. After 12 years of doing just that, we find, for many reasons, we must close our doors. There is sadness to be sure, but also graditude for the years we have had, for the many wonderful people who have come through our doors, for the special teachers who have shared their knowledge, and for our many mutual experiences.
Even though there will not be a dedicated space called the Yoga Barn, the Yoga Barn teachers will continue to teach in the community. As of June 1st, we will move our classes to the Pulse Studio on Franklin Avenue in the Village of Millbrook.

Mar de Jade Resort, Chacala, Mexico
Think about it. Six foot snow drifts, ice covered driveway, and 20 degrees outside. But you are flying to beautiful sunny Mexico for a week of yoga and meditation amid the lush tropical landscape and just steps away from the sun kissed beach.
We will begin the day with meditation followed by an invigorating asana class. After morn- ing practice we will enjoy a breakfast buffet on the covered porch overlooking the ocean. There will be plenty of time during the day for swimming, walking, spa services, reading, or just laying about. Fresh fruit, produce and local fish are a part of the three delicious home- cooked meals offered daily. In the afternoon we will regroup for gentle yoga practices including yin yoga, restorative yoga, and pranayama.
Mar de Jade’s attentive, friendly staff and understated elegance create a perfect atmo- sphere for our retreat.
This retreat is open to all levels of Yoga practitioners, including beginners, and there will be plenty of options and alternatives available for more advanced students.
Think about it.

To Benefit the Food Pantry of
St. Thomas Church, Amenia, NY
3 ~ 5 p.m.
Suggested Donation $30
St. Thomas has been running a food pantry for several years with the assistance of several grants. The largest grant is received from HPNAP (Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program). However, due to reduced funds, the grant has been cut by more than $10,000 for this year.
In June of this year St. Thomas distributed 5265 meals to 585 people in need. I have been volunteering at the food pantry for several months and see first hand how the need is growing. So we must raise the shortfall.
Therapeutic Yoga is a delicious mixed of gentle movement, yin yoga, pranayama, and restorative yoga.
